Overview
Weekends are a good time to visit the village as the local people stage their market stalls along the main road and a surprising assortment of food and other goods can be acquired very cheaply.
We will start by visiting the village of Santa Cruz, and then make our way to the Market and park of Santo da Serra where the paths are lined with wonderful blooming camellias. The park has a small variety of animals including deer, horses, and goats.
Finish up at the Village of Camacha, a beautiful small village a few kilometres out of Funchal. It's best known as the centre of Madeira's willow craft industry and for it's traditional folklore dance groups. You can admire all the work at a little shop in the centre of the village
